1 killed and 3 injured in tragic Anchorage crash

Traffic collisions are, for the most part, completely preventable. Oftentimes, it's a negligent driver who is distracted or speeding who causes an accident. Others lose control of their vehicles due to overestimating their abilities, and that results in injuries and deaths when their vehicles collide with others on the roads.

Child dies after being trapped in 5 feet of snow

The last thing you would think of as a potential hazard to you or your child is a roof, but flaws in a roof's design can lead to serious injuries or deaths. Imagine a large pile of snow collecting on the roofs in town. You're walking under the overhang when that snow falls. If it's soft, that's not a problem, and you can probably laugh it off. If it's not, then that hard ice and snow can cause serious injuries.

When your child is hurt, one of the last things you think about is litigation. You're more concerned about getting your child the care he or she needs to get better. After your child is on the mend, you may start to wonder who's going to pay for the medical bills and lost wages that have accrued.
